As Angela's agonizing screams pierced the air, her consciousness dissolved into a frenzied mess.
"A soul of hell, why are you here?" A divine voice cut through the void.
Unfazed, Zaafea replied, "I didn't mean to stir up trouble, but it was you who crossed the balance first." "The world is on the brink of change. Everything is for justice." "Boring." "Those who oppose are all demons!" Angela's spirit collapsed completely, and Zaafea was returned to reality. He went over to Vilgoth, who was still unconscious. "Not awake yet, huh? Looks like it's not over," Zaafea muttered and then looked toward the direction of the hall.
The sky had darkened, and Angela was still floating in mid-air. However, her consciousness had dissipated and she was now a walking corpse. At this moment, a white light shone on Angela's face.
Like a puppet on strings, she ascended to a higher place. The wings on her back disappeared, replaced by two new pairs. Her eyes gleamed as she looked down at Zaafea.

She's my loyal follower, and everything is of her will," the divine voice spoke again. "Her will? She doesn't even know that your techniques involve using her mindscape as a vessel, does she?" "Such is the necessary sacrifice, stubborn disciple of darkness! I shall send you back to hell!" With that, Angela's glowing form clunging toward Zaafea.
In an instant, the forest within several kilometers of them was leveled. The smoke cleared, and only Vilgoth remained, protected by a black aura.
Angela's rapid flight through the sky left sonic booms. At this moment, wings also began sprouting from Zaafea's back as a mask made of black aura appeared on his face.
Gripping his staff, Zaafea swung it, calling forth thunderous strikes wherever it pointed. The lightning, however, seemed to cause minimal damage as Angela was enveloped in divine protection.
"Why are you running?" Zaafea taunted.
Hearing this, Angela turned around and charged at Zaafea once more. The golden light in her hand transformed into a holy sword that was then aimed straight at Zaafea's vitals.
Suddenly, Zaafea removed his mask and fell from the sky. Another mask reformed on his face moments later from the black aura. "Nine Heavens Response, Thunderous Sovereign!" Zaafea called out as the mask took shape, transforming into a majestic three- eyed mask.
"Descend," Zaafea said evenly. An immensely powerful thunderbolt went rushing toward Angela. The blinding white light illuminated the place, seemingly lighting up the heavens and earth. Caught off guard, Angela was struck.
With the black aura cushioning him, Zaafea landed steadily on the ground. Looking toward Angela again, he saw that her wings had been fried by the thunderbolt and much of her body was charred.
However, as she was still being controlled by a divine power, she was still standing on her two feet.
"This girl can't withstand your power anymore, so scram," Zaafea stated.
"Just you wait! I'll be back!" "Good work, Xealoth. Go handle the handover with Ricord and the others," the man sitting in the office chair replied. "Got it." Xealoth left the office, holding a list in his hand.

Xealoth turned around to look before replying, "Balmort? Long tno see." "Balmort, eh? I still feel awkward hearing that. Just callLandrich. And you're Oswald, yes?" "It's been a long tsince I heard that name. Oswald, yeah. Let's stick to code names for confidentiality reasons." "Oh, anyone allowed here is definitely considered family. There's no need for us to be so cautious when we're in private, Oswald," Landrich said.
"You're impossible. Want to go out for a drink one of these days when you're off duty?" "Sure!" Landrich exclaimed. "It's been ages since we had a drink, Oswald. We've barely seen each other in the past few years thanks to our missions. Let's see... How about in half a month? Once my handover is done, let's go have something good to eat and drink." Content belongs to en.kikistories"Haha, sure. Let's stay in touch." "Alright, it's a plan. Oh, Oswald, what's that in your hand?" Landrich gestured toward Oswald's list.
"This? It's a list of powerful people from various regions who we were tasked to gather. They're divided into those who support us and those who oppose us. We're looking into each one of them." Content belongs to en.kikistories"People actually oppose matters of life and death like this?" "Plenty do. It's mainly due to their distrust of our capabilities. Our organization has been hidden for so long, after all. Our sudden emergence will naturally create dissent." "Can I take a look?" "Our strongest supporter is... Nash Calcraft... And the strongest opposer is... Clint Melton." Vilgoth slowly opened his eyes.
"What... What happened? Why do I feel so sore..." Vilgoth struggled to stand as he looked toward Zaafea and the body of the girl from before.
"Kilmort, you-" "Awake?" Zaafea cut him off indifferently without even looking at him. "A gathering has been called. Get ready to report your work. I'll explain what happened to you later." "Huh? Oh, uh, alright." With that, the two of them fished out a talisman and quickly concentrated, drawing the Big Dipper on the paper.
"Sign, connect."
