Chapter 1328
"Alright, | promise. Stay hand be good, I'll be back soon," Nina waved to Orion, then slipped on her sneakers
and headed out. She grabbed a car from the garage and quickly drove toward the company.
As she passed through a busy intersection, she didn't notice the car that had started trailing her, maintaining a
steady distance. Soon, she pulled up outside the company building. The receptionist recognized her and greeted
her warmly, "Hello, Mrs. York." "Hello. You go ahead, don't mind me," Nina replied, quickening her pace. She took
the private elevator up to the top-floor conference room and handed the file over to Nash.
They didn't say much to each other in front of everyone, but after all these years, a single glance was all it took
to understand one another. It was a little secret between them.

As she was leaving, Nina ran into Nash's new assistant, and they exchanged a quick hello. Not giving it much
thought, she headed over to the nearby mall, planning to pick up sfast food and maybe grab a new toy for
Orion.
Since it was the weekend, the fast-food spot was packed with families and kids, which meant slower service.
When Nina placed her order, the cashier said, "Sorry, ma'am, we're out of fried chicken right now. We're making
more, but it'll be about twenty minutes. Is that okay?"
Fried chicken was Orion's favorite, and he only liked it from here. Not wanting to leave empty-handed, Nina
replied, "That's fine. I'll wait."
While waiting, she sat down and skimmed through sinternational news on her phone. But she soon felt a
strange sensation, as if someone was watching her.
She looked up and scanned the
bustling crowd, only seeing kids and families around her. No one seemed out of place, but the feeling lingered.
Women's intuition was rarely wrong, and her professional background had sharpened her sense of danger.
After picking up the fried chicken, Nina left with her guard fully up. She noticed a car following her in the
rearview mirror, maintaining a steady pursuit.
Unwilling to lead any trouble back
home, she deliberately took a

detour. The car stayed close, and she passed a narrow alley, the vehicle suddenly sped up. Another car appeared
ahead, blocking her path.
Now, sandwiched between the two cars, it was clear they intended to force her to stop. Nina brought her car to a
halt but didn't step out.
The men from both cars stepped
out, all dressed in black, and surrounded her vehicle. The leader called out, "Miss Nina, are you coming out on
your own, or do we need to give you a hand? You're boxed in. There's no way out."
Unless she could suddenly sprout wings, Nina had no way to escape. Even if she floored the gas, she was
blocked by both vehicles.
