Chapter 1318
Eugene gave Quincy a taunting look. "Quincy, you're a CEO now. Don't go around playing the clingy ex. That's
hardly a good look, is it?"
Quincy knew that if he could win Lydia back, he would throw his reputation aside in a heartbeat. Building his
company had always been about giving her a better life. But he also knew that holding on would only add to her
frustration and resentment. He couldn't be that selfish. Lydia sighed, looking at Quincy one last time. After all
they had shared, the love she felt hadn't faded. Even though they were heading for a divorce, she wouldn't let
Eugene belittle him. "Stop it. I'm tired. Let's just pick up the skincare for my mom so we can go home," she said.
Eugene immediately took her hand, steering her toward the exit. "Then let's take a break first. We can grab a
bite to eat and rest up. There's no rush. It's just us."

Not far behind, Tiffany wrapped her arm around Quincy, raising her voice so Lydia and Eugene could hear.
"Quincy, let's grab sfood too. | took pictures of a few lipstick shades. | wanted your cousin's opinion."
Even if Lydia ended up with Eugene, Quincy wasn't about to get tangled up with Tiffany. They weren't kids in a
playground, bickering and trying to hurt each other to prove a point. All he wanted was for Lydia to be happy,
and that was enough for him.
Quincy pulled his arm free. "Tiffany, this isn't a stage play. There's no audience here for you to put on an act."
"Quincy! I'm only doing this to help you!" Tiffany exclaimed. She pointed at Lydia's retreating figure. "You haven't
even filed for divorce yet, the cooling-off period isn't over, and she's already out shopping with another guy?
How can you still care about her? Your mom was right about her all along. She's just a total flirt!"
*Smack!*
Tiffany froze, her hand on her cheek, staring at Quincy in disbelief. "You... you slapped me?" she stammered, her
voice shaking.
In the middle of the mall, in front of everyone, Quincy had slapped her without a second thought.
"Apologies," Quincy said, though
there wasn't the slightest hint of regret in his tone. "You know how much | care about Lydia. No matter where we
stand legally, she's still my
wife to me. When you insult her,
you're insulting me."

He might not be able to take a stand against his own mother, but he could no longer hold back when it cto
Tiffany.
Tiffany's eyes filled with tears. "You might see her as your wife, but does she see you as her husband? If she
even trusted you a little, things would never have gone this far."
"That's between Lydia and me. It's none of your business." Quincy would rather Lydia didn't trust him personally.
At least that would be something he could explain.
But the problem was, Lydia didn't
trust his mother, and every word she had said was true. He had nothing to say, no way to defend it. He couldn't
change his mother, so the only thing left to do was to set Lydia free.
Tiffany shot back, "I'm the only daughter-in-law your mom would ever accept; Quincy. | don't care about your
past with her. | only care about our future. So yes, your business is my business, too
